Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Matt, born and raised in Kansas, has always been a person whom people have felt comfortable talking to. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Communication Studies, but soon found his niche in life when he started working for a community mental health center. He began his professional career working with children before he went back to get his Master’s in Social Work from the University of Kansas. After getting his graduate degree, he worked primarily with populations involved in crisis, including assessing and referring to inpatient and outpatient services. He has also been involved in the creation of a batterer’s intervention program to address both men and women who were charged with a domestic violence charge to identify and address their history of violence and attempt to teach more positive interactions with future partners. More recently, he has come to Oklahoma and has been in a hospital setting working with all populations, from children to the geriatric, providing assessments as well as brief solution-focused therapy.
With years of experience working with diverse populations, Matt has developed a strong ability to connect with individuals seeking therapeutic support. His approach emphasizes building rapport and highlighting positive developments each day. As an inherently optimistic professional, he strives to identify ways to help clients achieve their goals and make the most of their sessions. Matt employs evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and utilizes check-in assessments, including the GAD-7 and PHQ-9, to provide real-time, results-oriented feedback. Additionally, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Oklahoma, he is credentialed to bill Medicare, Soonercare, and most private insurance, enabling him to serve a broad and diverse client base.
